The Glory Mountain Ministry Base

It shall come to pass in the latter days that the Mountain of the Lord's house shall be firmly established as the highest of the mountains and shall be exalted above the hills, and all nations shall flow to it. Isaiah 2:2

The Vision

Glory Mountain, founded by Mark and Deborah Griffo, was birthed as a ministry base to establish a culture of the Kingdom of God. Our kingdom purpose is to equip believers to be trained overcomers, ready to disciple a great harvest that is coming in.

This multi-faceted ministry base serves as an apostolic ministry "hub" for San Diego and beyond. We have committed ourselves to steward a sustained atmosphere of the Glory of God in our region. Our ministry is first and foremost to the Bridegroom King, and it is out of this place of intimacy with Jesus that all other ministry flows. Scripture tells us that His people will do even greater works than Jesus did as they go and heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers and cast out devils. Glory Mountain Ministry Base is comprised of a community of passionate believers of Jesus that walk in daily communion with God, loving and honoring one another, and wholeheartedly pursuing the Lord for the release of His Kingdom to be established in every realm of our culture and society.

Equipping and Training Base (Ephesians 4:11,12)

The mission thrust of the base is to equip and release the saints for the work of the ministry as they receive teaching and impartation by five-fold ministers. (Eph.4) This is accomplished through the regional conferences, schools, gatherings and intensive training workshops that are provided. We believe that every believer is a minister of the Kingdom of God and we desire to help every person discover their destiny and calling and equip them to fulfill it. As in the church of Antioch, we welcome our local five-fold ministers as well as traveling ministers to equip and commission the saints of God within this region and beyond through personal impartation and through the media ministry that the Lord is using within this ministry base.

Ministry Opportunitites at the Base

Glory Mountain provides ministry training opportunities for believers in our region and beyond. We are continually training and equipping believers - children and adults - to form various ministry teams such as:

  • REVELATORY/PROPHETIC TEAMS
  • HEALING ROOM TEAMS
  • INTERCESSION TEAMS
  • DELIVERANCE AND INNER HEALING TEAMS
  • HOUSE OF PRAYER WORSHIP TEAMS (worshipers and musicians that create an atmosphere of the presence and the power of God anywhere they go)
  • PROPHETIC EVANGELISM TEAMS
  • DANCE, CREATIVE AND FINE ARTS, DRAMA, AND MEDIA TEAMS AND MORE AS GOD BRINGS IN THOSE TO LEAD OTHER TEAMS

Glory TV

God is raising up the media ministry of Glory Mountain to impact this world for His Kingdom through prophetic TV interviews, teachings, and "NOW" words for the Body of Christ. This ministry has already hosted a number of national ministry leaders as well as local prophets and apostles that are speaking the current Word of the Lord for His church. As this ministry advances to the next level, it is our desire to impart destiny and glory into the hearts of the listeners throughout the world.

Glory Mountain Fellowship (Church)

Glory Mountain Fellowship is the church family of the ministry base. We are a community of covenant believers that are fully connected and committed to one another. Every week there is personal ministry, prophetic flow, revelatory teaching and the abandoned, free worship that we openly welcome. We also have specific times for the five-fold ministry to impart into the congregation as well as times for intercession and warfare worship. We have a passion to encounter God and His Glory every time we gather together! We currently meet every Sunday morning.

Small Groups

When we look at the book of Acts we see a church that didn't just meet together for corporate celebration but met together in homes throughout the community. Acts 2:42 tells us that the church devoted themselves not just to the principles and practices of Christian living, but to fellowship. Literally, they partnered together in life, encouraging and supporting each other, ministering to God and one another through their gifts and callings, meeting each other's needs, and figuring out life's challenges together. As a result of this combination of devoting themselves to the teaching of the Apostles, corporate worship and fellowship they developed an unquenchable passion for the Lord that led to more people coming to know the love, power and forgiveness of Jesus.

This is a picture of the church that we are pursuing. Glory Mountain Minsitry Base is a network for smaller groups and churches as we provide accountability and covering. If you are called to lead a smaller group, whether in a living room, office building or coffee shop, we offer practical training and oversight for those called to this.

Glory Mountain Network

Glory Mountain Ministry Base is a relational covering for many ministries and a sending-out base for those called into the five-fold ministries. We exist to network the leaders of the Body of Christ together for refreshment, encouragement and nurturing. The result is meaningful relationships with one another. thus being more effective in their giftings, callings and destiny. Truly a net that works!

Marketplace Ministry and Kingdom Finances

It is in the DNA of Glory Mountain to both inspire and equip believers to embrace and fulfill their callings in the business community. Believers have been placed within their businesses to transform workplaces, cities, and nations for God. God is raising up a new generation of artists, journalists, bankers, presidents, lawmakers, musicians, plumbers, builders, actors and educators to "occupy" and bring God's ways into every part of life on this earth! They will be known for supernaturally demonstrating the most productive and creative work ethic as they walk in righteousness, honesty and integrity. We consider it a high calling to earnestly intercede for these business men and women in our communities that they may prosper greatly and be mightily used of God to establish His rule and reign in our society AND to co-labor together to fund the work of the Kingdom of God.

Beliefs of Glory Mountain Network and Fellowship

Davidic Praise and Worship
We believe that the pattern for New Testament worship is to be found in the Davidic order of worship described in the Psalms and birthed in the Tabernacle of David in the Old Testament. Within this belief is the concept that we as believers are to be spiritual priests who's focus is to minister to the Lord and who offer up spiritual sacrifices to God. One of the primary sacrifices is the "fruit of our lips" or our audible worship given to God (Hebrews 13:15). Davidic worship is demonstrative worship that is characterized by the biblical expressions of clapping, shouting, singing, dancing, lifting hands, bowing and kneeling.

Prophecy and the Laying on of Hands
We believe that prophecy and the ministry of the prophet are to be fully operational in the Church today. If the church is going to be filled with vision and under the full direction of Jesus, the prophetic voice must be heard. We do not accept that this and other ministries were to be confined to an "apostolic age" but they are to be fully activated until the physical return of Christ.

Prayer and Intercession
We believe that wherever there is prayer there is a restraining of evil. Both personal and corporate prayer are absolutely essential if the Church is to expel darkness with the light of the Kingdom of God. The New Testament Church was birthed in prayer, it continued steadfast in prayer and bathed all of its activities and ministries in prayer. In fact, when the Bible labels the Church or the House of God, the label it gives it is "a house of prayer for all nations" (Isaiah 56:7). Since this is the name that God has chosen for us, prayer should be a major focus of every believer and congregation. It is through prayer that the Spirit has liberty and freedom to move.

Local Church As every local church comes to understand the New Testament pattern demonstrated at Antioch, there will be radical changes in the way we "have church" and in the way we live our lives these days. God is calling us to seek first a Kingdom vision in our lives and ministries. While we all recognize and understand that the larger Body of Christ encompasses all believers, it is on the local scene that the plans and purposes of God are going to be demonstrated and fulfilled. Every believer must find himself or herself in right relationship to God and to a specific local church in order to find a place of ministry and fruitfulness. It is essential that rather than criticizing the Church, we do everything we can to make the Church of Jesus Christ glorious. The Church is God's instrument to extend His purposes in the earth today. It is the instrument of the Kingdom.

Eldership Church Government
We believe that God has a plan and pattern for government in the local church. It is the same form of government that God has used in every institution that He has established. We refer to this as team ministry or an "eldership" form of government with a senior pastor or chief elder. This is a form of government that involves equality and headship which is modeled in the Godhead, established in the natural family, set up by God in Israel, used in the synagogue and ordained for the Church in the New Testament (Hebrews 13:17; Acts 14:23; Titus 1:5). The elders are to the Church what parents are to a family. They are the spiritual parents of the local assembly and are responsible before God to raise up and equip the members of the church to be able to function in their God ordained callings.

Restoration of the Church
We believe that the Church which began with great power and anointing fully functioning as God's instrument in the earth went through a period of serious spiritual and doctrinal decline through the Middle Ages. Since Martin Luther, God has been in the process of restoring the Church to her former glory and power. As we get nearer to Christ's return we can expect this process of restoration to become complete and we can expect the Church to arise and shine and be what God has designed for her to be (Isaiah 60:1-5).

Restoration of the Family
We believe that at the same time God is restoring His Church, He is also restoring the natural family to its proper place and function (Jeremiah 31:1). One of the things that God is doing is turning the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to the fathers (Malachi 4:6). God is in the process of healing marriages, strengthening parents and teaching men and women more about their God given roles. He is doing this because He wants to use a godly seed in this generation to rise up and destroy the works of the wicked one. Such a generation will need to be parented by those who understand God's purpose and have kingdom priorities established in their life.

House to House Ministry
We believe that the early church focused on two equally important expressions of its assembly life. There was the corporate gathering that was vital for the equipping of the saints and corporate expressions of prayer and worship. In addition, there was ministry from house to house for the sake of fellowship, relationship, nurture and evangelism (Acts 5:42). If the church today is going to be successful in its ministry to the world and to itself, both expressions must be cultivated to the fullest extent.

The Kingdom and the Church
The church is destined to be a victorious church, prevailing over the forces of the kingdom of darkness and releasing the knowledge and glory of God to every tribe and tongue before the return of the Lord. We believe that the extension of the Kingdom of God is the function and ministry of the Church. The Church is God's instrument in the earth to establish God's rule and His reign. The Church is the instrument; the Kingdom is the message. As the Church fulfills her God given calling, it must reclaim its primary function of bringing the lost to Christ, bringing His Kingdom to every part of our society, and extending the borders of God's kingdom until the glory of the Lord covers the earth as the waters cover the sea.

The Five Fold Ministry
We believe that the ministries listed in Ephesians 4:11 are to be fully functioning right up to the return of Christ. This includes Apostles and Prophets, not just Pastors, Teachers and Evangelists. All of these ministries are needed if the Body of Christ is going to be properly equipped and the Church is going to be properly built up.

The Gifts of the Spirit
We believe that the gifts of the Spirit enumerated in I Corinthians 12:7-11 are not only for today, but should be desired, sought after and evidenced in every church. If there was ever a time that these gifts were needed, it is today. We do not believe that these gifts were only for the early church of the first 100 years. They are to be a part of the Church right up to the return of Christ for His perfected Bride.

Unity and Diversity
We believe that every local church should be inclusive and actively seek to include all peoples of all ethnic origins and social and economic standings. The Church of Jesus Christ is a multi-ethnic group with the purpose of keeping the unity of the faith that we may demonstrate the glory of God to the world.

Church Planting and World Missions
God's purpose for His people is that they "occupy" the earth (Luke 19:13) until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is admonishing His followers to be busy gaining and advancing (not declining) in their given trade of making disciples of the nations of the earth! We believe that the Church has been given the commission by Christ to go into the entire world with the message of the Kingdom in an attempt to bring all men to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. We also believe that the result of this mission should be the establishing of local churches in every community in every country of the world.

Raising Up and Releasing the Saints
We believe that five fold ministers are to be servant leaders that serve the other ministries of the Body of Christ by equipping and releasing them to function in their God ordained callings. We are dedicated to inspiring, equipping and mobilizing Christians to invade and engage the culture around them in whatever field He has ordained them to work in! We foresee a mighty army of believers on this earth coming into alignment with the army of the host of heaven to release the glory of our God in this land! We see these saints "occupying" by bringing God's precepts and presence into every part of life in every part of the earth until He returns!

Doctrinal Statement
The fundamental teachings of Glory Mountain Ministry Base are reflected in the following, clear statements:

  1. We believe in the plenary, verbal inspiration of the accepted canon of the Scriptures as originally given (II Timothy 3:16; I Corinthians 2:13).
  2. We believe in the Eternal Godhead who has revealed Himself as ONE God existing in THREE persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit; distinguishable but indivisible (Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14).
  3. We believe in the creation, test and fall of man as recorded in Genesis; manŐs total spiritual depravity and inability to attain to divine righteousness (Romans 5:12, 18).
  4. We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of men, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, very God and very man (Luke 1:26-35; John 1:18; Isaiah 7:14; 9:6).
  5. We believe Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day, and personally appeared to His disciples (I Corinthians 15:1-4; Romans 4:25).
  6. We believe in the bodily ascension of Jesus to heaven, His exaltation and personal, literal and bodily coming again the second time for the Church (John 14:2-3; I Thessalonians 4:13-18).
  7. We believe in the salvation of sinners by grace, through repentance and faith in the perfect and sufficient work of the cross of Calvary by which we obtain remission of sins (Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:12; Romans 5:11).
  8. We believe in the necessity of water baptism by immersion in the name of the Eternal Godhead in order to fulfill the command of Christ (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:36-39; 19:1-6).
  9. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as an experience subsequent to salvation, with the Scriptural evidence; namely, speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance (Acts 2:1-4; 8:14-17; 10:44-46; Galatians 3:14-15).
  10. We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Spirit as enumerated in I Corinthians 12-14, manifested in the Early Church.
  11. We believe in the Spirit-filled life, a life of separation from the world and perfecting of holiness in the fear of God as an expression of Christian faith (Ephesians 5:18; II Corinthians 6:14; 7:1).
  12. We believe in the healing of the body by divine power, or divine healing in its varied aspects as practiced in the Early Church (Acts 4:30; Romans 8:11; I Corinthians 12:9; James 5:14).
  13. We believe in the Lord's Supper, commonly called Communion, for believers (I Corinthians 11:23-32).
  14. We believe in eternal life for believers (John 5:24; 3:16) and eternal punishment for unbelievers (Mark 9:43-48; II Thessalonians 1:9; Revelation 20:10-15).
  15. We believe in the reality and personality of Satan and eternal judgment of Satan and his angels (Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:10-15).
